How do I donate via bank transfer?

If you would like to donate to True Care Foundation via bank transfer, please use the account details below. Your bank will provide you with a receipt as proof of payment.

Please send us an email to [email protected], stating the date that you transferred your donation. This will help us to keep track of your transfer and we can then let you know and thank you once we have received it.

Where can I send a donation by cheque?

You can send in your cheque, made payable to True Care Foundation, you can send the cheque to the Donations Team, True Care Foundation, Caci House, Spring Villa Park, Spring Villa Rd, London HA8 7EB.  Please include a covering letter with your name and address details.

True Care Foundation are not currently conducting face-to-face fundraising activity however members of the public may volunteer to fundraise in their local area. If you’ve been approached by a person claiming to be raising funds for us and you think they might not be a genuine fundraiser, please contact the Supporter Care team on 0207 118 7790 or email us with information on who approached you, how and when.

What’s the best way to collect money and donations for a sponsored event?

The best way to get people to donate money is to set up an online sponsorship page with JustGiving. Find out how to set up your own online fundraising page.

How do I pay my money and donation in?

We accept donations in cash, by cheque or BACS (bank transfer). See donation.

How do I know that my money and donations have reached you?

It can take us a few weeks to process your donations once we have received them, but as soon as we do receive your donation we will send you a thank you letter by way of receipt.

How do I claim Gift Aid on the money I raise?

As a registered charity, UNICEF is allowed to claim back an extra 25p on every £1 donated to us in gift aid. Even 25p can be enough to buy a life-saving vaccine for one child. For us to be able to claim gift aid you need to check the sponsor or donator is a UK tax payer, record their home address, postcode, donation amount and make sure they tick the Gift Aid box on your sponsor form or web page.

How can I access the food bank if I am self-isolating?
If you are self-isolating, we recommend you asking a friend or family member to visit our Food Bank on your behalf. If this isn’t possible, please contact our team to see how we can help.

Can I donate food, or essential items, to the food bank?
In short: yes! We always need non-perishable food items and essential toiletries for our Food Bank. Whilst we’re open five days a week, it’s best to organise a time to drop your donations off with our Food Bank team.

How will the money we have raised be used?

True Care Foundation provides food provisions for children with the donations it receives from fundraisers. We do whatever it takes to make a lasting difference to children’s lives.

The money and donations you raise will help us to carry on with our life-changing work. It doesn’t matter how much you raise, whether it’s a £10 donation or £100, every single penny helps us to help children. 

On average over the last five years, for every pound spent by True Care Foundation, 65p went towards our work for children in low income homes, 30p was spent on raising another pound and 5p was spent on the governance of the charity.

Can I donate the money I raise to a particular country or project?

We aim to reach the children who need the most help and who are the hardest to reach, like children who live in remote areas or ethnic communities, and so we really like your donations to be ‘unrestricted’. This means that you are not restricting what project or country your fundraising and donations are spent on. It also helps our work to be more efficient by reducing our administration costs, making your money and donations reach more children.

Unrestricted funding also helps us to respond quickly, wherever and whenever disaster strikes. Children are always hardest hit by emergencies, losing their lives, parents, homes and schools, and so it is vital that we help them as soon as possible.
